Fiance texted me few days ago informing me that there will be a kenduri plus akikah in Terengganu side. Oh Myyyyyy...less than 3months and i have to go and search for a tukang mekup/mak andam. Agak2 ada tak yang masih available? Crossing my fingers!
Hot date plak tu. 31 December 2011. But thankfully it'll be just a small kenduri. I dont know how majlis bertandang in Terengganu works. But usually in KL/Selangor its just like a normal wedding.
Less is more!
Me and fiance am trying our best to minimize the wedding (in terms of costs). So no pro photographer :). I dont mind. As long as my side (reception), i get what i want.
Ive been trying to find a decent makeup person. He/She doesnt have to be a pro. As long as the end result is satisfying. I know this one contact Kak Ida from D' Paloma. Her work looks good. She resides in KL, but often goes back to Terengganu (hometown). Unfortunately she has no plan to go back on that date :(. But she recommended D'Idaman and Dee Renjis. Problem is that D'Idaman doesnt have a website, or a blog. Cant see his work. I dont care if i dont have pelamin...a photographer...but i need to have a great makeup artist!

Hantaran
They say hantaran is a must in every weddings. Well it really depends on which wedding and it REALLY depends on the individual/family. As for me, hantaran (dulang) has never been something pivotal for my family. Even during my engagement we didnt even plan to have a hantaran dulang. Only at the last minute his mom wanted to give this and that. So being a Malay, it wouldnt seem nice not to be giving anything in return. We ended up giving him 3dulangs which consists of (sirih junjung, kain and cupcakes) which wasnt even decorated properly (ooopsss). And his family gave me 5 dulang( fruits, kain, ring, sirih junjung, cake).
It was so weird and awkward. But there was no issue from both families :). Alhamdulillah. No intention of spoiling the custom and tradition, but we do it OUR WAY :). Yes people might make a remark, but honey...adat is just an adat.
As for our wedding, we came up with a plan for the hantaran. Hopefully everything will go as planned :)

HIV Test
Sebut je HIV test, im positively sure 80% of B2B will freak out. Bukan nya takut sebab nak kena jap...tp disebabkan perkataan 'HIV' itself makes it a lil creepy giving u goosebumps.
Alhamdulillah the process was simple than i thought it would be. Managed to book a session at Klinik Kesihatan Ampang. Most clinics would want u to call, come by to the clinic to isi2 borang (book the session), and come another day for the test. But Ampang clinin was diff. He managed to make an appointment through the phone. We could come by anytime from 2-4pm. We came exactly at 2pm. There was a guy, and a couple. Isi borang, bayar rm1/pax. Waited for our turn. Went to the counter and handed our finger tip, and japppp. Mmg tak sakit langsung. Tp mmg terkezzzuuttss. After a while the nurse will give the result to us, and we had to place it in a provided basket and wait for our turn for consultation. The person just ask 'bg 3 cara bagaimana HIV boleh merebak'. CET! Bila d jwb...'OK boleh kawin'. Yeay! But i think if the person was HIV positive, then they would ask on the personal Qs. You know what i mean.

Wedding Ring
First time ever in my whole life pegi ring/jewellery hunting. Heard Habib was having a massive sale up to 70% so fiance and i thought it wouldnt kill to go and look around. We didnt even plan to buy any just yet. Spent 2hours there. Not so much choices. Rings were selling at cheap price. Ada yang rm1k+, 50% off so you'll get prolly below rm1K. Good deal. Orang pendapatan sederhana pon mampu nak beli. :)
As the sale was about to end on that day, so we agreed to buy one! Klo tak rugi....saya bukan suka beli brg kemas ni...so alang2 kan. Finding the perfect ring is like finding the perfect hubby. Bukan senang tau. Finally we came across this one ring that we both thought 'is the one'. Im happy. He's happy. Yeay satu perkara dh selesai!

U-turn
A colleague of mine who is also getting hitched this December initially wanted to hire the 'sombong'(ive blogged about this in the previous entry) boutique to do her dress, make up and pelamin. Mungkin rezeki dia dpt layanan baik so she did not think that boutique was any bad at all. And finally after attended another colleague's wedding, she fell head over heels over the pelamin. Made by Ari Couture. Nampak GAH kan...but actually the pricing is quite reasonable. So anyway this friend of mine made an arrangement with Ari and tadaaaaaa....business is ON! So no more stuck up boutique from KLANG. Tu la..sombong dgn potential pelanggan...tgk rezeki dh lari.
Btw Ari Couture's wedding dresses cater more to tudung wearing woman. :)
Till then. XO

Back~!
Im backkkkk. For the time being anyway. Wedding prep is back on track! I can foresee a major problem coming my way. For a girl who doesnt wear the head scarf, wedding head scarf (if u intend to wear one) will most prolly be one of the major problem. Awning? Lilit? Selendang? You name it. Not only tudung but your face shape is another factor that will turn u down. Not all girls are gifted with a face shape that suits any kinds of tudung. Unfortunately my face is one of it. Bahhhhh!! Ive been going to several shops but none suits to my liking. Apparently most of the people (including the boutique owner) said that my face suits more with tudung awning. :( baru je nak pakai tudung lilit2 ala2 arab.. Adehhhhhh.
Ada org kata tak payah pakai langsung since susah sgt. But i want to wear one for nikah despite the fact that itll most prolly turn out 'biasa je'.
Lets see how.......
